Mary Van Valkenburgh, Program Director

Mary Van Valkenburgh is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been a counselor for Family Service for the past twenty-five years. She was recently the Executive Director of the Sexual Assault Crisis Agency for two years. Mary has taught parenting classes in various community settings including the Los Angeles County courthouse. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors for End Abuse Long Beach, whose mission it is to end domestic violence, child and elder abuse, and sexual assault in the Greater Long Beach area. Mary presently serves as Chairperson for the Women’s Advisory Group to the Chief of Police of the Long Beach Police Department. Mary has been an active member in the Long Beach community for thirty three years. She has served as PTA president in three schools in the Long Beach Unified School District for a total of seven years.
