Parenting Classes
Offered This Fall

parents

Family Service will be offering Parenting Classes this fall at three office locations. "Active Parenting Now" is a program designed for parents of children ages 5 to 12 and helps parents learn to raise responsible, cooperative children who are prepared to meet the challenges of the teen years. Using this program, Family Service will provide parents with skills that will help them develop cooperation, responsibility and self-esteem in their children. Parents will also learn positive, non-violent discipline techniques so they can avoid those all-too-familiar power struggles.

New Service for
Long Beach Area Seniors

seniors

An agreement has been reached between Family Service and Pacifica In-Home Solutions, Inc. of Cerritos, to provide counseling services to Pacifica's clients in their own homes. This is a unique offering for area seniors who are in need of counseling services but are unable to travel to Family Service office locations. Seniors and their families can encounter many life-altering challenges such as accidents with long term physical impairment, chronic illness, death of family and friends, depression, and transitions to new roles within their families as physical capabilities slow or diminish. Now Pacifica clients and their families can benefit from greater access to counseling services that will help add value to their lives, and enrich their family support system. Visit the Pacific In-Home Solutions website for more information. www.pacificai nhome.com

The City of Paramount has just signed up as a new EAP partner. Any businesses or organizations that are interested in finding out more about how Family Service can provide services for employees, please call Pam Turner at 562-436-3358, ext. 118.
